Troop 4550 is getting ready to start back up

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and is enjoying the last little bit of time before school starts. I will be off to a Girl Scout conference in two weeks and I hope to have some cool new ideas and things for the girls to do.

If you have preregistered you are ready to go.
If you have not preregistered and do want to continue with GS you and your parent must attend the first meeting to get you set up. Please bring a check for 12 dollars and if you would like to donate to the general fund include that in your check as well.  The service unit dues (5 dollars Per girl will be paid by the troop)

First meeting is August 21st at 2pm at Redemeer on the corner of Zoar and highway 124.

Meetings are the first and third Sundays of every month. Extra activities will be posted as they arise.

Things to look forward to:
  1. Co camping with another troop in September
  2. Juniors set up a Brownie tryit day (where they will teach Brownies from around the unit and award try its)
  3. Talent show

To earn the Innovate Award, girls:
    • Identify an energy issue in the community, research it, create a plan, and carry it out, all the while reaching out to others to join in, too

Next meeting

May 22, 2011 is our next meeting. It is important for all the girls to attend since it is our last meeting (before the cookout).

June 5th Sunday 2pm-4pm is our cookout. The girls will be deciding what they will cook out and do to celebrate the end of the year in scouts

The park we will be at is
Maple Pavilion at Tribble Mill Park for Sunday, June 5 from 2:00-4:00

Happy Mother' Day to everyone.

The parade went very well today.
We had members of three other troops come out and march with us. We would love to thank them for marching with us

We have a new member Olivia, she plays softball with Syd, Lauren, and Danielle

Everyone got a chance to carry the flags or banners

We learned about how colorguards need to hold the flags and which one has to be higher and on which side it gets carried

We opened with the girl scout promise

Before the parade they got to do some dancing to the Shiloh High School Band jamming out

They met some interesting characters
