Our Girls did great at Thinking Day

We had 10 out of our 13 present for Thinking Day. They had a lot of fun. Got some cool swaps, ate some food from different countries, learned a few things about other countries, and ran into some friends from school.
They did well with their Spanish words (Peru is Spanish Speaking).
The cookies were a hit as well as their swaps they made.

I am very proud of them.

Great meeting today Got a lot accomplished

First some reminders:
Scouts should be coming home with some permission slips (these must be signed to participate in the activities)
1) Fire dept visit (March 12, 2011)
2) Thinking Day (Feb 26, 2011)
3) cookie booth (any of them)

I will also be giving them another permission slip for our meeting on March 6 the location has changed to the Snellville PD on Wisteria. The office that was coming to speak with the girls invited us to tour the new station. I thought this would be a good treat and learning experience for the girls

Thinking Day is coming up Saturday:
Girls need to wear white shirts and blue pants (Peruvian)
If possible make the Peruvian cookies for Swaps)
Emily is making our flag

We will meet at the end of thinking day to set up our PD permission slips.

The girls decided today that they want to go camping again. I will work the details out ( softball season has started so I need to check on which weekends will work for all).

The girls decided that they want to go to vests instead of sashes. So this is what we are going to do. As a scout Bridges or flys (I hope both) up to the next level they will go to the VESTS. So in June, Sydney, Maggie, and Lila will be moving on to Juniors they will get junior vests instead of sashes. As we move along they will all fly up to the next level and go to vests. The Fly up Ceremony is scheduled for The first Sunday in June. You will love what they are planning so mark your calendars for this wonderful ceremony. All scouts will be participating in our final ceremony and awards.

Have a great week and see all my Peruvian Girl Guides on Saturday.

Juniors only

Calling all Girl Scouts, Juniors and Above!!!
Studio B, a division of International Sugar Art Collection by Chef Nicholas Lodge, is excited to present Camp Cupcake for Junior level and above Girl Scouts!  This is an exciting class, where each girl will learn professional techniques, like you have seen on Food Network shows, to decorate 6 different cupcakes.

During your class, you will learn techniques that include:  Using a piping bag and star tip with buttercream icing, making chocolate decorations, & using rolled fondant (an edible, moldable icing).  You will participate hands-on in this class, and will be provided with all the supplies needed to complete these 6 fun and exciting cupcakes.

And, at the end of the class, you will have learned great cake decorating techniques, have had a great time, and you will receive a camp cupcake fun patch!  Also at the end of the class, Junior level scouts will have earned their Doing Hobbies badge!

You will be taught by Molly Weathers, a Girl Scout leader and cake enthusiast, and Emily Segars, a professional cake decorator, and assistant to Chef Nicholas Lodge.

Studio B is located in Norcross, GA.  We are off of Jimmy Carter Blvd., across the street from the Varsity.  Seating is limited, so call us today to book your spot! We are excited to present this class to all Girl Scout's in Georgia, and we look forward to seeing you!

Cost:  $15.00 per girl!

AND
MAY 7, 2011,  0900AM--12

Waiting on approval but the March 12 is a visit to the Gwinnett Fire Department on Lenora Church. They will learn about fire safety and get to see the workings of a fire station. (and earn a patch for the back of their sash)

and May 7, 2011 is the Snellville days Parade ( the application has been enterend and I am waiting on confirmation). The girls will wear their full uniforms, two will carry the troop flag and if I can get one with a good pole one will carry the American Flag.

TROOP 4550 has an account

We now have a troop account. Opened today at Essex bank. So any checks that girl scout parents write from now on will be to Troop 4550.

While at the bank three little Brownies that were with me hit the tellers up for cookie sales. Sold 15 boxes while I was opening up the account with Ms. Kim. They may have a future in sales.

First, Booth Sales are Saturday at 10am. Syd, Em, and Gabby made some more signs for the event. Remember safety is first, you will sell with a buddy, all money will be handled by an adult. we have also been approved for a booth at Discovery Mills Mall. This one is inside and they will have us a table and chairs (I would like all girls working this one to be in uniform..) after I will treat them all to hot cocco.
