MEETING TODAY

 Great job today

The girls made over two dozen letters to our military saying thank you and happy Thanksgiving.

First Ceremony
Nov. 6, 2011 at 5pm
all parents and siblings are invited (you should get an invitation from your daughter)

Permission slips went home for the Dec 2nd Nutcracker

They voted to be part of the Loganville Christmas Parade (more details will be posted as soon as I get it in place)

I will be placing the order for the Ornament craft this week. Please remember to pay your 5 dollars for this activity, which will be a mother daughter event. Time and place to be set up at a later day and time (one of our December meetings)

The Brownies are working on a Browniee Quest which earns them the 3 keys (patches)

The Juniors are working on a Junior Quest about Change. They must complete a quest before they can continue and earn their Bronze Award. This is the highest award a Junior can achieve and the juniors present today decided that they want to try and earn this award. It will be a good bit of work but they will have fun while doing it. On Nov. 6th I will send home some papers for them to read and work on in their spare time from school. Right now they are going to gather information on a heroine and redelive it to the rest of the troop in Nov.

Sunday's Meeting

Things to think about:
We talked about doing the ornament workshop at one of our meetings. If you are interested the cost is 5 Dollars. You can bring this on or before Nov. 15th. I will place the ornament order soon.

You will plan your investiture and rededication meeting. So think about how and what you want to do.

Do you want to participate in:
Now is your chance to say thank you to our troops!  The Bert Show is collecting letters of thanks so every single soldier stationed or deployed outside the United States can receive a letter of gratitude on Thanksgiving Day.  We want to give our troops a “Big Thank You” with a little taste of home this Thanksgiving.
LETTER FORMAT
Each letter should be heartfelt, handwritten, original, and free of any political statements.  The purpose of the letter is to express thanks to the military personnel currently deployed outside the United States.  We reserve the right to eliminate those messages that are political in nature and do not reflect a positive message in the spirit of Thanksgiving.  Those letters will be destroyed.
All letters must be on 8.5” x 11” paper or smaller.  Do not use glue, tape, staples, cardboard, glitter or otherwise attach anything to the paper.  Decorate using crayons, pencil, etc.  Use both sides if you like, but use one page per letter only.  Do not send cards or photographs.  Feel free to include your mailing and email address, and you may get a response.  Individual letters should not be sealed in envelopes.
Do not send anything except letters.  We cannot accept donations of any kind, and they should not be included or attached to letters.

If so each patrol unit can make some on Sunday. But you can also make some and bring them with you to Sunday's meeting. The more letters the better.  This will count as our second community service activity if you choose to do it.
