Saturday Fun Day and Kiva Loan

Troop 4550 just made a loan to Emily on Kiva.org
Poultry - Kenya

Congrats to troop 4550 for doing their first community service project which was to lend 25 dollars to a person in need in a third world county. The girls decided on three different places in the world and the one that we funded was Emily from Kenya. The girls will choose another person when this money is paid back. Great Job Girls

Today was GS Fun Day at Lenora Park. We had 5 girls show up and they had a lot of fun, played some games, sang some songs, made some scraps, ate some food. I have some photos on my phone and at some point will post them.

Reminders for camping trip:
4-430 be at the church ready to roll
We are at Camp Timber Ridge we will be at Pebblebrook camp site.
The camp is full so we should meet some other troops
Some of our activites are: sit-a-pons, slushies, smores, hiking, cooking, trip to the Girl Scout store, and having a lot of fun.

I will post directions to the camp for those who need them. If you want to look now go to the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta and camping section. They have maps to the camp and a camp map. We will be entering the camp through the other entrance off Pebblebrook.

Must have Health form, permission slip, and photo release to attend.

Great Meeting today.

Today was a busy day at our meeting to get us ready for Fun Day, Camping, and our fundraiser.

It was great to see Maggie and Lindsey back with us today and Lauren our new Scout.

Right now our troop stands at 10 scouts with two more possibly joining. This is going to be an outstanding year. Girl Scouts turn 100 on March 12, 2012 so we will get to experience this wonderful anniversary.

This Saturday Morning at 1030 am we will be meeting in the Lenora Church Parking lot. To participate you must have a permission slip signed, have or have turned in your new medical report and photo release. If you have not gotten these in bring them, if you can't find them go to GS of Greater Atlanta or come at 1015am on Sat and you can fill them out at the park.

Camping trip: Friday Sept 30 we leave at 430 from our home church parking lot. Each girl has several items to bring and a list of items they will need (clothing, shoes, etc). Please let Kim or I know if there is a problem with any of the items you have been asked to bring.

I will post the food list by Wed. if not sooner.

December 2 we have nutcracker tickets if we have 12 girls in the troop we will not have any extra tickets. I will advise as we get closer to Dec. 2.

Food List and what you have to bring

If you can bring Newspapers to the meeting we will be making fire starters for our camping trip.

We will be handing out the GS fall fundraisers (your parent will need to sign a permission form for this)

We will go over the fundraiser at the end of the meeting from 340-4pm if parents want to attend to see what we are selling. The funds from this fundraiser will add some funds to our troop budget which is down to about 50 dollars, we used 50 to pay for camping and 85 for the Gwinnett Ballet Nutcracker in Dec.

Don't forget your 1 dollar dues for the meeting on Sunday. Wear your uniform.

Can't wait to see you Sunday. Gabby will be handling snacks for Sunday.
