Meeting March 20, 2011

Meeting at 2 pm Sunday

Ms. Kim will be running it. I have to go to Atlanta for part of the day.
I am sending snacks and some badges and fun patches.

Have a lot of fun and if any Brownie is going next week to the science 3 tryits at the United Meth. Church in Snellville let me know Syd and Gab are going. Earn 3 try-its in 2.5 hours and have fun with science.

Girls will need to meet at 9am or before at the Kmart Shopping center on 78 and Wisteria (near the PD we went to)

Required Full Uniforms
One will carry the American flage and one will carry the scout flag.
Two girls will carry a banner that says Girl Scouts of Snellville Troop 4550 (yep we have to make it)

It will be lots of fun, Family and friends come out and watch

Fire Department Visit Today

The girls learned about Fire Safety today, took a tour of the fire house, got to sit inside the fire truck, and watch the ambulance take off for a call. They were very amazed at the crank window. I guess not many of them actually have to turn a handle to make the window in a car go down.
Next Meeting March 20th at our home church.

Cookie Money

Just got this information from the service unit director. Cookie money must be paid to the GS of Greater Atlanta GA by the 10th. I appoligize for and last minute rush. But I need to collect the rest of the cookie money asap so I can pay the GS of GA. I will be calling those who have not paid yet tonight and see if we can make arrangements to collect the money. I am not sure why they changed the date and not sure why I was told a different date.

You can also deposit the money directly into our account at ESSEX Bank (there are two both on 78 one in Loganville and one in Snellville near the High School. Account is Greater atlanta Girl Scouts TROOP 4550  June reid and Kim Hyman. Just give me the deposit slip next meeting.

I will be writing the check Thursday the 10th and depositing it into the main GS accout after 330. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

What a great day at the PD

I believe that they all had a blast at the Snellville PD. Officer O took us on a tour of the building, detention cells, transport van, conference room, 911 center, and they got to try on a bullet proof vest and tactical helmet.
They were give a stick on badge and coloring book from the officer and they received a Police Visit patch from the troop leaders. Also, if they paid off their cookie money they received a My 1st cookie sale patch.
The police also got a report of a suspicious person around the PD building. Turns out it was one of our parents. (that was kind of funny).
The All-Star cookie patch went to Gabby for selling the most cookies, I did explain to the girls that since I worked all the cookie booths I had my girls with me so they were able to rack up some sales. The cookie booths are open to all scouts to work and they can work as many as they wanted to.
Saturday we are headed to the fire department. Some more fun and learning. 950-10am meet at the PD parking lot, must have your permission slip..
